Instructions for Speakers

The club looks forward to your presentation  Here is some information to help you prepare.

Presentation:

Please send your presentation title and a 1 to 2 sentence overview when you confirm your speaking date. This information will be shared in our publicity associated with you presentation.

Please send a short bio which can be used to introduce you before your presentation.  We will not require an outline before the presentation however, providing one after your presentation would be helpful.

We have the capacity to project a video or slide show. Please bring your presentation on a data key unless you wish to use your own computer.

Speaking to Rotarians can be a way to network and get your message out.  However, we do ask that you not directly market a product or service to Club members in your presentation.  Leaving brochures or information is quite acceptable.

Meeting:

Our weekly breakfast meetings (see agenda) are held at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings in Shopsy’s  Downtown/Quinn's Steakhouse & Irish Bar in the Sheraton Centre Toronto (entrance at 123 Queen St. West).  The meeting starts with guest introductions and club business which usually take 10-15 min.   Speakers generally speak for about 20-25 minutes with time after that for questions. The meeting ends with “happy bucks” and a fifty/fifty draw.  We try to adjourn promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Location:

We meet in a room at the back of the restaurant.  Enter through the lobby of the Sheraton Centre.   Go past the glassed-in waterfall which will be on your left.  The restaurant is not open at that hour but you can walk through the restaurant to the meeting room. We suggest you arrive at 7:15 a.m. to meet our members and prepare yourself for your presentation.  A light breakfast is available and we invite you to join us.

Our venue is easily accessible via subway (east of the Osgoode Station; west of the Queen Station), or streetcar (Queen Street line at York Street).

Here is a link for parking in the area.  If you choose to park under Nathan Philips Square it is possible to walk underground to the Sheraton.
