Atorkor Vocational Training Institute

Atorkor, on the coast of Ghana, is a poverty stricken area. The Atorkor Vocational Training Institute (AVTI) was built to help eradicate that cycle of poverty. With the collapse of the fishing industry there was no alternate employment available .To provide marketable skills education, the construction of AVTI began.

The Rotary Club of Toronto Sunrise is delighted to have been a partner in the creation of this incredible school.  On February 4, 2014 President Bob Butterill presented a cheque for $7,000 to Peta Hall. This marks the fulfillment of our commitment of $10,000 to buy equipment for the school.
